Bryan College's Daniel O'Kane was selected for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-America Honorable Mention team and National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) / National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America 1st Team.
O'Kane, a junior from Dunedin, New Zealand, helped lead the team to an NAIA national tournament bid after winning the AAC tournament. A few weeks ago, he was selected as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He was also named to the AAC 1st Team All-Conference for the second year-in-a-row.
O'Kane helped propel his team throughout the postseason. In the conference semifinal match he scored the game-winning goal in overtime. In the championship game, he was given the job of marking the conference's most dangerous offensive threat. He always plays hard and smart, and is very skilled with the ball.
"A good deal of my success can be attributed to the players around me," said O'Kane.
Men's Head Soccer Coach Sandy Zensen commented, "Daniel had a great year and the honors are well-deserved. He is a quality player and individual. I would like to have a half dozen more like him."
