Dayton, TN-Carrie Goodson recently signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Bryan College. The 5'6" guard is currently averaging 11 points per game while shooting 47% from the field. Additionally, she dishes out 4 assists per game and collects 3 steals per game.
"Carrie should have a chance to contribute immediately", said Bryan Head Coach Jamy Bechler, "She comes from an outstanding program and is very well-coached. She can play both guard spots. We think she'll be able to defend 94 feet, and she is strong off the dribble. We like her toughness and her consistency. Every time I watch her play, she does the same things. She is always hustling and playing aggressively. However, even more important than this is the fact that she wants to be at a Christian college and desires to grow in her relationship with Christ. She should mesh very well with our current players and will do well in her four years on the court for the Lady Lions."
The Lady Rebels are currently 10-2 on the season. This does not include a 56-52 victory over perennial state title contender, McMinn Central, in a preseason Hall of Champions game. On December 14th, Goodson hit the game-winning three-point shot to win at Knox West. Goodson has been part of Lady Rebels' teams that have won 18 and 20 games each of the previous two seasons.
"She is by far the best listener and responder that I've ever coached," Maryville coach Kim Bledsoe said according to TheDailyTimes.com, "That's big because that indicates that she knows what's important. She values what we're doing and just makes that her job to commit to that and do a good job herself."
Carrie is the daughter of Kevin and Jennifer Goodson of Maryville, TN.
