As a senior, Yates had a batting average of .378, a slugging percentage of .549, and an on base percentage of .506. She had a fielding average of .985. As a pitcher, she had an earned run average of 1.86, including 128 strikeouts.

Yates commented, "I chose Bryan because it offered the major I was interested in, and it is a small school with a great atmosphere."

"Taylor is a true utility player. She has a great glove and arm that we will use in the middle of our infield and behind the plate in our first season. Her ability in hitting to all fields will definitely be an asset for our program, and help her break the lineup and produce runs in an offense that should have a lot of speed and ability to score. She saw a lot of time in the circle because of the size of her high school and her athleticism, but in travel ball she is molded more to what we will look for her to do here at Bryan."
