The Lions traveled to Athens, TN, on Wednesday night to take on the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan College. The Bulldogs are currently the #1 ranked team in the AAC. The Lions controlled the game, defeating the Bulldogs 71-57. TWC only has two conference losses so far this season, both coming from the Lions.
  

Bryan scored the first basket of the game. TWC scored the next basket to tie the game, but the Lions scored again to take the lead and never look back. Bryan built their lead all the way up to 20 points in the first half and went into the locker room at halftime leading 45-25.

In the second half, the Lions built their largest lead up to 22, 56-34 with 9:36 left to play. The Bulldogs made a run but would not get any closer than 11 points, 56-45 with 5:20 left in the game. The Lions closed the game out well to win 71-57.

The Lions shot 46.15% from the floor while holding the Bulldogs to just 36.84%. Bryan outrebounded their opponent 43-28. The Lions hit 21 free throws for the game, while TWC only attempted 19.

The Lions were led in scoring by Keith Bauer with 19 points. Demond Craig added 15 points. Scott Newton had a double-double, scoring 13 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Xavierian McCall finished with 12 points. Astral Guerrier grabbed 11 rebounds to go with his 6 points.

The Bulldogs were led in scoring by E'Jay Ward and Matt Towry with 13 points apiece.

The Lions are now 14-8 overall and 7-4 in the AAC. They play again on Saturday at conference opponent Milligan College. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00pm ET.
