Bryan College's Scott Newton was named Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performances on the court last week. Newton is a 6'6 junior forward from Kingston Springs, TN. In the first game of last week, he finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds to help lead the Lions to a win over the current #1 seed Tennessee Wesleyan. In the second game of the week, Newton led the Lions with 19 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Milligan College.These were two key conference wins on the road that have kept the Lions in the hunt for a 1st place regular season finish. The Lions are currently sitting 1 game out of the top spot. Newton will look to continue to help lead Bryan toward this goal on Wednesday as the team travels to conference opponent Virginia Intermont College.
