The Bryan College Men's Basketball Team is proud to announce the signing of Luke Howell. He is currently playing for Coach Franklin Brathwaite and the Eagles of Wayne Christian School in Goldsboro, NC. The signing took place while Howell was on campus for the Presidential Scholar Weekend.
As a junior in high school, Howell averaged 14 points per game and was named Most Valuable Player of his team. He was also named to the All-Conference team as a junior. The Eagles won State Championships in both his freshman and sophomore years. Howell received the 6th Man Award in his freshman year and Best Defensive Player Award in his sophomore season.
Bryan Head Coach Don Rekoske said, "We are excited to have Luke become a part of our program. He's had a good high school career and could potentially develop into a good college basketball player."
At the signing, Howell commented, "I believe that Bryan is where the Lord has led me. I am excited about the opportunity to play basketball." He also stated that the academics had a large role in his selection of Bryan. "The Biology program here is amazing," said Howell.
Howell will graduate from high school having completed 37 college credit hours. He has a 4.0 grade point average and scored a 28 on his ACT. He will be majoring in Biology while at Bryan.
