The Lady Lions hosted the Lady Cavaliers of Montreat College on Saturday night. After 10 lead changes and 9 ties, the Lady Lions fell 48-50.

Bryan got down early as the largest lead of the game for either team came as Montreat jumped out to a 19-9 start. The Lady Lions fought back and went into the locker room at halftime down 23-24. In the second half, the two teams battled back and forth. However, Montreat had the lead down the stretch. The Lady Lions fouled several times at the end of the game, but were unable to make up the difference.

The Lady Lions did outrebound their opponents 37-32. They also made 22 free throws, while the Lady Cavaliers only attempted 17.

Bryan missed the presence of guard Bethany McArthur, who was out with an injury. McArthur leads the Lady Lions with the most 3-pointers made this season. In Saturday's game, the Lady Lions went 0/11 from beyond the arc.

Amber Smith led all scoring with 17 points. Cori Jones finished with 9 points and 4 assists. Anna Thomas was the leading rebounder for the game with 7 rebounds. Jessica Southern added 6 points and 7 rebounds.

The Lady Cavaliers were led by Chaecie Bullock with 14 points.

The Lady Lions are now 16-10 overall and 6-7 in the conference. They play again on Monday in the rescheduled game against Virginia Intermont. The game is being played at Virginia High School. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00pm ET.
