The Lions went on the road to take on the Cobras of Virginia Itermont College. The game was played at Virginia High School. Bryan dominated the game, winning 81-48.
The Lions shot just over 58% in the first half to go into the locker room at halftime leading 41-22. They continued to pour it on in the second half. Their largest lead came when they were ahead 69-33. The Cobras trimmed a few points off of that lead, but the Lions were too much in this game.
Bryan outrebounded their opponents 35-25. They forced 19 turnovers, including 11 steals for the Lions, while only turning the ball over a season-low 6 times.
The Lions were led by Astral Guerrier, who had 14 points and 18 rebounds. Xavierian McCall also finished with 14 points. Derek Batt added 12 points. Scott Newton tallied 7 rebounds to go with his 11 points.
The Cobras were led in scoring by Wade Bryant and Jordan Spurling, with 8 points apiece.
The Lions are now 17-8 overall and 10-4 in the conference. Bryan is currently .5 games out of first place with 2 games left in the conference. They play again on Wednesday at Bluefield College. The Rams are right on the Lions' heels, just .5 games behind them. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
