The Lions played their second game of their invitational on Friday night against Asbury College. Scheduled as a 7-inning game, it took the Lions 11 innings to defeat the Eagles 2-1.

Asbury struck first, scoring their only run in the first inning of the game. However, the Lions held them scoreless for the next 10 innings.

Bryan scored the equalizing run in the bottom of the 4th inning. Shane Clawson reached base on a walk. He then stole second to get into scoring position. Andrew Brown hit a single with 2 outs to score Clawson.

The Lions were then held scoreless for the next 6 innings before winning the game in the 11th inning. Once again, Shane Clawson reached base on a walk. He advanced to second on a fielder's choice that allowed Zach Hensley to reach first. Kevin Layne then grounded out to first, advancing both runners. Andrew Brown came through again, hitting a single to score Shane Clawson for the win.

Relief pitcher Josh Smith received the win for the Lions, giving up 0 runs or hits and striking out 5 batters in 4 innings of work. Starting pitcher Zack Breault got a no decision. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 8 batters.

The Lions are now 2-0 in their invitational and 6-3 overall. They play again on Saturday against Taylor University at 1:00pm ET and again against an opponent to be announced at 7:00pm ET.
