The Lions hosted their annual baseball invitational this past weekend. After starting out 2-0, the Lions dropped both of their games on Saturday to finish 2-2 in the invitational.

In the first game on Saturday, the Lions were defeated by Taylor University 15-8. The Lions were led in the game by Shane Clawson who had 3 for 5 with 2 runs batted in. Josh King, Pablo Rodriguez, Joseph Delrosario, and Jonathan Brown each had two hits. While the Lions tallied 15 hits for the game, they gave up 18. Taylor saw 5 different pitchers throughout the game. Starter Daniel Zimmerman received the loss.

In the final game of the invitational, the Lions hosted the University of Rio Grande. The Lions lost by a final of 7-4. Rio Grande has given the Lions 3 of their 5 losses on the season. Pablo Rodriguez led the Lions, going 3 for 4. Jonathan Davis was the only other Lion with multiple hits, with 2. Starter Zach Breazeale received the loss for the Lions.

The Lions are now 6-5 on the season. They play again on Tuesday in a double header at home against Shorter College. The first game is scheduled to start at 3:00pm ET.
