The Lions hosted the Cavaliers of UVA-Wise on Saturday night. The Cavs were in first place in the conference, going into the game with a one-game lead over the Lions. The Lions played one of their best games of the year to defeat the Cavs 85-69 on senior night.
  

The first half saw the Lions trailing for most of the time. The Cavs built their largest lead of the game to 6 points, 28-22, with 4:22 left in the half. The Lions closed the half on a 9-4 run to go into the locker room at the break down 32-31.

The Lions' offense took over in the second half. Scott Newton hit a 3-pointer to start the half, giving the Lions a lead they would never relinquish. They continued to build on their lead, getting up 21 points, 82-61, with 2:24 left in the game. The Cavs were able to shave 5 points off the lead for the final score of 85-69. The Lions outscored their opponents 54-37 in the half.

Scott Newton led Bryan with a career high 32 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Derek Batt also had a career high, adding 21 points. Demond Craig finished with 10 points and dished out 8 assists, tied for his career high in assists. The Lions scored 30 of their points from the free throw line.

The Cavs were led in scoring by Travis Berry with 9 points.

The Lions finish the regular season 18-9 overall and 11-5 in the conference. The conference record put them in a 4-way tie for first place. However, the tie breakers land the Lions with the #3 seed for the AAC tournament. The #3 Lions will host #6 Reinhardt College on Wednesday night. The two teams split their games during the season, with each team winning at home. The Lions won their home game by 19 points. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
