For the second time in three weeks, Bryan College's Scott Newton was named Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Newton is a 6'6" junior forward from Kingston Springs, TN. He received this honor for his performance on the court last week, scoring a total of 53 points and grabbing 25 rebounds in the Lions' 3 games. That included a career high 32 points in the win over UVA-Wise in the final game of the regular season, creating a 4-way tie for 1st place in the AAC.
  
Newton will look to continue to lead the Lions throughout the AAC Tournament. Bryan will host Reinhardt College on Wednesday night at 7:30pm ET.
