In the first game, the Lions were held scoreless, as they were defeated 11-0 in just 5 innings. Shane Clawson and William Colvard produced the Lions' only 2 hits of the game. Starting pitcher Michael Edwards pitched 1.1 innings, giving up 7 runs on 4 hits. He received the loss. Ben Young came in and pitched the next 1.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 5 hits. Wooden had the Lions' one RBI as he knocked in Zach Hensley. Hensley was pinch running for Andrew Brown, who had reached base on a single. Tyson Latham started for the Lions and received the loss. He pitched 4 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. Josh Smith pitched the final 3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 2 hits.
