The regular season awards for the Appalachian Athletic Conference have been released. Bryan College was recognized with two honors and six different student-athletes received honors.
The team finished the season as Regular Season Co-Champions. The Lions were recognized for their sportsmanship this season, as they were voted by the conference coaches as the men's basketball AAC School Champions of Character.
Scott Newton was named to the All-Conference 1st Team. Newton is a 6'6 junior forward from Kingston Springs, TN. As a sophomore, he was named to the All-Conference 2nd Team. He was the team's leading scorer averaging 14.04 points per game for the regular season and was second in rebounding with 8.12 rebounds per game. He recorded six double-doubles this season. Newton scored a career-high 32 points in the last game of the regular season.
Keith Bauer was named to the All-Conference 2nd Team. Bauer is a 6'5 junior from Maryville, TN. He was the second leading scorer on the team, averaging 13.83 points per game to go with 6.25 rebounds per game. His season highs were 28 in points and 15 in rebounds. Bauer hurt his shoulder at the end of the season but played several games through the pain, giving the team his all.
Astral Guerrier was also named to the All-Conference 2nd Team. Guerrier is a 6'7 junior power forward from Nashville, TN. He was the team's leading rebounder, averaging 9.52 per game. Averaging 11.52 points per game, Guerrier led the team in double-doubles with 9. His season highs were 23 in points and 19 in rebounds.
Tyler Clark was named to the All-Freshman Team. Clark is a 6'2 guard from Oak Ridge, TN. He played in all 27 of the regular season games. He was the team's most consistent shooter from beyond the 3-point arc, making 45.9% of his attempts. Clark came off the bench to give solid backup to the upperclassmen starters for the entire season.
Xavierian McCall was named to the All-Defensive Team. McCall, a 6'1 junior guard from Raleigh, NC, was assigned to the opponent's shooter every game. He averaged 1.78 steals per game with a game high of 6 steals. McCall also was successful on the offensive end of the floor, averaging 11.52 points per game.

Andrew Slikker were Academic All-Conference. In order to receive this award the student-athlete must be at least an academic sophomore and have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
