The Lions traveled to Atlanta, GA, on Wednesday to take on the Chargers of Atlanta Christian College. The Lions were defeated in both games. The Chargers are currently ranked #1 in the nation for Division II of the NCCAA.
In game one, the Lions lost a heartbreaker in extra innings. Josh King hit a homerun in the top of the 9th inning to give the Lion a 4-3 lead. However, the Lions were not able to hang on to the lead, as they gave up 2 unearned runs in the bottom of the 9th inning.
In game two, the Lions' bats struggled as they were shutout 9-0. The offense, Bryan's normal strong suit, was only able to get two hits in the game.
The Lions are now 13-22 overall. They play again this weekend at home in a 3-game series against conference opponent Virginia Intermont College. The single 9-inning game is scheduled to start at 6:00pm ET on Friday, and the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET on Saturday.
