The Bryan College Cheerleading Team is proud to announce the signing of Courtney Knowles. She graduated from St. John Lutheran High School (Ocala, FL) in 2008 and is currently at Central Florida Community College, where she is working on her Associate of Arts degree.
Knowles has been involved in cheerleading since she was in 7th grade. She cheered for Marion County Youth Football League for two years, and once she entered high school she cheered during her freshman and sophomore years at West Port High School. In Knowles' freshman year at WPHS, the competition squad placed first at the county-wide competition. After transferring to St. John Lutheran High School in her junior year, she cheered with the Saints for a year and then chose to coach the next two years. Knowles started out as an assistant coach for the Saints' 7th and 8th grade squad in her senior year of high school, and then was the head coach in her first year of college.
Knowles commented, "When it came to choosing a school, Bryan College was at the top of my list because it is a place where I can not only finish up my schooling, but also be able to freely worship the Lord. ‘Christ Above All' being their school motto is honestly something that stuck out to me, and I am very excited about the opportunity that is ahead of me!"
Bryan College Cheerleading Coach Janice Perron said, "I think Courtney will be a great addition to the team! Her positive, upbeat character, love for cheerleading, and her love for the Lord will all be things that she will be able to share as the season starts!"
While attending Bryan, Knowles will be majoring in Business Administration.
