The Lions hosted the Buffaloes of Milligan College for a 3-game series this weekend. Coming into the weekend, the Buffs were ranked #1 in the conference and ranked #20 in the NAIA. The Lions won the series, defeating Milligan on Friday night and in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.
  

On Friday night, the Lions won 9-7. Kevin Layne, Jonathan Davis, and Shane Clawson led the Lions with 3 hits apiece. Pablo Rodriguez had 3 runs batted in on 2 hits, including a homerun. Jonathan Davis also had a homerun. Kevin Layne had 2 RBIs.

The Lions threw four different arms throughout the game. Tyson Latham started on the mound. He pitched 3 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits. Ben Young came in and pitched the next 3 innings, giving up one run on one hit. He earned the win for the Lions. Kemonte Keesee pitched the 7th inning and gave up 0 hits or runs. Josh Smith pitched the last two innings, giving up 1 unearned run and 1 hit. He received the save.

In game one on Saturday, the Lions fell 3-2. Jonathan Brown, Steven Brown, and Josh Harris had a hit apiece. Jonathan Davis and Ryan Henn scored the two runs. Zack Breault started on the mound for the Lions and pitched all seven innings. He gave up 3 runs, only one earned run, on 6 hits. He recorded a season-high 12 strikeouts.

In the final game of the series, Bryan defeated Milligan 2-1. Pablo Rodriguez had 2 hits while Jonathan Davis, Shane Clawson, Steven Brown, Josh King, and Ryan Henn each added a hit. Clawson and Henn each had an RBI. Henn hit a homerun to tie the game, and Clawson had the game-winning hit to drive in Davis from second.

Adam Polston started on the mound for the Lions. He pitched 6 innings, giving up just 1 run on 4 hits. He earned the win. Josh Smith came and pitched the last inning, giving up no runs or hits to earn the save. He came into the game with runners on 1st and 3rd, with nobody out, and got out of the inning without giving up a run. With the tying run on 3rd, he struck the leadoff hitter out, got a ground out to third and then struck out the final hitter of the game.

The Lions are now 18-24 overall and 9-9 in the AAC. They play again on Monday at Cumberland University, who is currently ranked #3 in the NAIA. The game is scheduled to start at 6:30pm ET.
