The Bryan College Baseball Team traveled to Lebanon, TN, to take on the Bulldogs of Cumberland University. The Lions fell to the Bulldogs 15-5 in 7 innings. Cumberland University is currently ranked #3 in the NAIA.
  

The Lions jumped out on top, scoring 2 runs in the 2nd inning. However, they gave up 4 runs in the third and then 10 runs in the 4th inning. The Lions added 2 more runs in the 5th and another in the 6th. The Bulldogs scored 1 in the bottom of the 6th to give them a 10-run lead. Bryan was then unable to score a run in the 7th to keep the game going.

Kevin Layne led the Lions' offense. He went 3-for-3 from the plate, had 3 runs batted in, and scored once. Pablo Rodriguez added 2 hits and an RBI. Shane Clawson had the Lions' other RBI. Jonathan Davis, Steven Brown, and Josh King all had a hit.

The Lions threw 6 different pitchers throughout the game. Zach Breazeale started on the mound and pitched 2 innings. He gave up 2 hits and 0 runs. Kemonte Keesee pitched the 3rd inning, giving up 4 runs on 2 hits and earning the loss. Josh Harris pitched the next third of an inning. He gave up 6 runs, 4 unearned, on 3 hits. Ben Young closed out the inning, giving up 4 runs, 3 unearned, on 3 hits. Tyler Vakey pitched the 7th inning, giving up 2 hits and no runs.

The Lions are now 18-25 overall. They play again this weekend in a 3-game series at Montreat College. The Friday game is scheduled for 2:30pm ET, and the Saturday doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00pm ET.
