The Men's Soccer Program is proud to announce the signing of Andy Helms. He is currently playing his senior year at Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, TN. Helms is a 6'1" defensive player with a cannon of a leg. Last season, as a junior, he was named to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps Team. As a sophomore, Helms was named to the All-District Team, and in his freshman year his coach named him Rookie of the Year.
"I really liked the team when I visited, and it is a good program for me to become a part of," stated Helms at his signing.
"Andy is a solid player. I am looking to him to come in and make a contribution to the team's success," commented Bryan Head Coach Dr. Sandy Zensen.
Helms' high school coach, Jim Schermerhorn, said, "Andy is a very good technical player. He is very motivated and works hard. He can hit a ball long and win the ball in the air. In the last 2 years he has become a lot smarter of a player and sees and understands the game better, which has really helped us."
While attending Bryan, Helms will be majoring in Exercise & Health Science.
