The Bryan College Baseball Program is proud to announce the signing of Lonnie Rowden (LJ). He is currently a senior at Soddy Daisy High School. Rowden is a left-handed pitcher for the Trojans. In twelve and two-thirds innings of work so far this year, he has 24 strikeouts, has given up only 2 walks, and has not allowed an earned run.
"I wanted to stay close to home. I like the life of the campus. Everyone knows everyone. I also like the school's slogan (Christ Above All) and what the school stands for," said Rowden about choosing Bryan College.
Bryan Head Coach Taylor Hasty commented, "LJ is a great young man with a great future here at Bryan. While he needs to continue to develop, his work ethic and his commitment to excellence will help carry him to a high level of success on the mound."
"LJ has outstanding character and is a leader on the team both with baseball and spiritually. He will be a great player at Bryan and will help the program succeed. He'll be a good fit for the school as well, and will impact the lives of the people there," stated Soddy Daisy Head Coach Jared Hensley.
While attending Bryan, Rowden will pursue a degree in Ministry.
