
Josh Bradley (Sr - Ringgold, GA) led the way for the Lions. He set two school records and grabbed one title in a ninety-minute span. In the men's 400-meter dash, Bradley took third in a school best of 49.85. The former Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe High School standout secured the 800-meter run victory with a 1:54.46, then ended the day with a fourth-place finish and school record run of 22.96 in the 200-meter dash.
Sophomore Bryson Harper led a sweep of the top three spots for the Lions in the men's 1500-meter run. Off of a slow opening 500 meters, Harper secured the victory with a late push to post a time of 4:03.60. Freshmen teammates Jason McLeod and Drew Thompson crossed the line at 4:04.48 and 4:06.46 respectively. Harper (Sequatchie County HS) was third in the men's 800-meter run at 1:56.84 and fourth in the men's 5000-meter run.
The Lions took both 10k track titles on Thursday evening. Junior Zach Buffington (Ooltewah, TN) and sophomore Ericka Simpson (Grayson, GA) earned their 25 lap victories on a warm night. Buffington led three teammates to a sweep of the top four spots. Thompson (Murfreesboro, TN), McLeod (Ocoee, FL) and Hunter Hall (Brentwood, TN) were next across the line for the men. Buffington was third in the 5k on Friday afternoon.
Hall would come back the next day to claim his second consecutive 3000-meter steeplechase conference title and led freshman Alex Stephens (Cleveland, TN) to a runner-up position.
Josh Ball (Fr - Tellico Plains, TN) was a workhorse for the Lions. Ball was runner up and All-Conference in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdle races. He was third in the 100-meter dash and triple jump and wound up fourth in the long jump. Senior Bryce McGuire (St. Petersburg, FL) was runner up in the men's triple jump.
Freshman Alyssia Lindsay (Spring City, TN) had two All-Conference performances as she finished third in the women's 1500-meter and 800-meter runs. Lindsay lowered her 800-meter school best to 2:26.22.
"All the athletes stepped up and put in a great effort this week. To finish 2nd in the conference with twelve men says a lot about their talent and work ethic. I look forward to adding some depth to our roster and giving it another shot next spring," said Head Coach Rodney Stoker.
