The Bryan College baseball team traveled to Barbourville, KY, to take on the Bulldogs of Union College in a 3-game series this past weekend. Due to weather, they played the doubleheader on Friday and the single 9-inning game on Saturday. The Lions fell in all three games. The Bulldogs are currently sitting at the top of the conference and are receiving votes to be ranked among the top 25 in the nation.
  

In game one of the doubleheader, the Lions were outscored 9-6. Pablo Rodriguez led the Lions' offense, going 3-for-4 from the plate with 3 runs batted in, including a 2-run homerun in the first inning. Shane Clawson also had a 2-run homerun. Josh Harris started on the mound and received the loss. He worked 3 innings, giving up 8 runs on 7 hits. Kemonte Keesee pitched the fourth inning, giving up no hits or runs. Ben Young pitched the last two innings for the Lions, giving up 1 run on 1 hit.

In game two, the Lions jumped out to a lead but were unable to hold as they fell 6-4. Jonathan Davis, Pablo Rodriguez, and William Colvard each had 2 hits. Kevin Layne, Pablo Rodriguez, and Josh Harris had the Lions' RBIs. Josh Smith pitched the entire game for the Lions. He gave up 5 earned runs on 5 hits in 6 innings.

On Saturday, Union's bats were on fire as they won 12-2. Josh Harris and Steven Brown had 2 hits apiece. Steven Brown had both of the teams RBIs. Adam Polston started on the mound and received the loss. He pitched 3 and 1/3 innings, giving up 6 runs, 5 earned, on 7 hits. Zach Breazeale pitched the next 2 and 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs, 0 earned runs, on 3 hits. Ben Young pitched 1/3 an inning, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits.

The Lions are now 20-33 overall and 11-16 in the conference. The Lions play again next week in the conference tournament, which begins on Saturday.
