The Bryan College Women's Golf Team is pleased to announce the signing of Shelley Todd. She is currently a senior at Rockwood High School.
"I'm very happy," Todd said after signing, "I didn't start playing golf until the seventh grade, but I really enjoyed it and knew there were a lot of opportunities out there for me later on if I worked hard. It's also exciting to be a part of their first team and know I have a chance to play all four years."
"She has talent and we're excited about having her," Bryan Head Coach Peter Bollant said, "But we also have other priorities. She's a local kid and we'd love to build a program with local talent. We're also looking for kids with good academics because Bryan College is one of the top private colleges in the southeast region. She also has good character. We're looking for kids that love the Lord and are involved with their church and community," He also stated that, "she has good athletic ability. You can tell she has a solid game and a lot of potential."
"We believe Shelley is the first girl from Rockwood High School to sign a golf scholarship, and I'm very excited for her," Rockwood head coach Guy Thompson added, "She's a hard worker. She's one of those kids that works on her own because she is always trying to improve her game."
