The Lions opened their 2010 season on Saturday night as they hosted the University of the Cumberlands. Both teams received votes to be ranked in the top 25 in the nation and their skill showed as they fought for 110 minutes. The defenses held strong as neither team was able to find the back of the net through two overtimes.
Daniel O'Kane and Harry Sherwood anchored the Lions' defense. Goalkeeper Rodrigo Pigatto came up with 6 key saves to preserve his shutout. The Lions showed their depth as 18 different players saw significant minutes of playing time.
The Lions are now 0-0-1. They play again on Thursday at home against Cedarville University in the
Bryan Classic. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm ET.
