The Lions' goal came just 2 minutes and 24 seconds into the golden goal overtime. The ball was played to Curt Hays, just outside of the side of the box, who cut the ball in past his defender and delivered a perfect ball in the air across the 6-yard line. Bennie Bardales came flying in and headed the ball past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net to win the game. It was Bardales' 6th game-winning goal on the season and Hays' 11th assist.
The Lions tallied 11 shots in the first half, 10 in the second, and 1 in overtime for 22 total shots. Sixteen of them were shots on goal. The Eagles recorded 1 shot in the first half, 3 in the second, and 0 in overtime for a total of 4. Three of their shots were on goal.
