Women's Soccer - Mon, May. 16, 2011
The Bryan College Women's Soccer team has released the 2011 schedule. On August 8, the team will report to pre-season training. With the loss of nine players this will be a critical time for the women's team to build chemistry on and off the field. The Lady Lions will play two pre-season scrimmages. The first match will be played at home against NCCAA member Johnson Bible College, and the other match will be played in Sewanee, Tenn., against NCAA DIII member University of the South.

The regular season will kick off on August 27 in Campbellsville, Ky., where the Lions will take on the Tigers of Campbellsville University. The Lions will then return home to host the Bryan Invitational for the first time, the weekend of September 9 and 10. University of the Cumberlands, Bethel University, Cedarville University and Bryan will each play two matches over the weekend. Five of the next six matches will be on the road, three of which are conference opponents. On September 17 Bryan will travel to Montreat, on September 20 they stay close to home to play 2011 conference champions Tennessee Wesleyan, and on October 1 they play newcomers to the conference, Columbia University. On October 5, the Lions will host one of the two conference teams which they have never beaten, Union College. The Lions will then have the opportunity to end the other losing streak on October 19 when they travel to Milligan to take on the Lady Buffaloes. The season will finish up at home on October 28 against Bluefield College.

The highest seeded schools will host the first round matches at the start of the conference tournament on November 5. The semi-final and final matches will be held at the school of the regular season champions.

"I look forward to the challenges that are ahead of us. We will never be able to replace the seniors who graduated, but I really am excited about the freshmen we have coming in. This team has the potential to do something special," says Coach Sauve.
