Jack Traylor, (known as D.T. to the Lady Lions), along with his wife Karin (known as Mama T.), began assisting the Bryan women's basketball team in 1987. Starting as team chaplain, he soon moved into an assistant coaching role while Mama T. began working as team statistician. Over the years they have served under nine head coaches. A native of Emporia, Kansas, D.T. is a graduate of the College of Emporia, and holds graduate degrees from Emporia State University and the University of Oklahoma. He serves as chairman of the Bryan history department and also teaches women's self-defense courses for the college. He and Mama T. currently handle the stats and game-day management for all Lady Lion home games. The Traylors have also assisted the Bryan volleyball team for ten seasons, and D.T. served as an assistant baseball coach for six seasons.
