[Cross Country] Freshman McLeod Leads Lions

Sewanee, TN -Bryan College Track & Field made the short trip to the University of the South, where the Fowler Center hosted the annual Sewanee Tiger Indoor Invitational. It was a positive trip, as they raced their way to two qualifying marks for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championship. Racing for the third weekend in a row, and on an undersized 160 meter non-banked track, the Lions still hit some personal and seasonal bests.

The Bryan College Baseball team traveled to Emmanuel College on Saturday, February 6, to play a doubleheader. On a windy afternoon, the Lions lost the 9-inning Game 1 14-7, but rebounded in Game 2 11-5.

The Lady Lions traveled to Milligan College to take on the Lady Buffaloes. Coming into this game, Bryan had won 3 out of the last 4 regular season meetings with Milligan, including a win earlier this year. However, Milligan shot over 50% from the floor and over 50% from beyond the 3-point arc to defeat the Lady Lions 52-74.

On a wet, yet sunny afternoon, the Bryan College Baseball team got off to a hot start for the 2010 season. The visiting Truett-McConnell Bears played well, but could not seem to stop the Lions' offense. The Lions scored in 8 of 12 innings yesterday on their way to beating the Bears 8-5 and 7-4.

The Lions traveled to Athens, TN, on Wednesday night to take on the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan College. The Bulldogs are currently the #1 ranked team in the AAC. The Lions controlled the game, defeating the Bulldogs 71-57. TWC only has two conference losses so far this season, both coming from the Lions.

The Lady Lions traveled to Tennessee Wesleyan College to take on the Lady Bulldogs last night. Going into the game, the two teams were tied in the conference. The Lady Lions held on to defeat the Lady Bulldogs for the second time this season by a score of 64-54.

Bloomington, IN - Indiana University played host to their third meet in January, and welcomed 695 athletes from 22 schools inside the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse for the Indiana Relays. Bryan College Track and Field finished up day two with a pair of NAIA qualifying marks and several career bests.

As the program enters its 8th season, the Lions are poised to make major strides in the right direction. The 2009 recruiting class added 15 new faces to the squad to go with the 4 redshirts and 12 returning letter winners, who will now be taking the field with the Lions. "I really like the team we will be putting on the field this spring," says Head Coach Taylor Hasty, "They have been committed to working hard all Fall, both in the classroom and on the field."

The Lady Lions hosted the Union College Lady Bulldogs on Wednesday night. The Lady Lions got back on track, defeating the #RV Lady Bulldogs 70-68. The win avenged their loss from earlier in the season while Amber Smith was still in volleyball.

Johnson City, TN - Bryan College opened their indoor season with strong showings at the 32nd ETSU Niswonger Invitational, held inside the Memorial Center. The site will host the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championship March 4-6.
