Down two points with forty-eight seconds left on the clock, the Lions hit two free throws to tie the Virginia Intermont College Cobras at 70-all. The Cobras came down the floor and took a jumper and missed it, but the Lions were unable to secure the rebound as they lost it out of bounds. With 34 seconds remaining V.I. inbounded the ball and began to dribble the clock out. The Cobras attacked and missed the short shot, but once again the Lions were unable to get the rebound. V.I. secured the rebound and went right back up to score a layup and go up two points with 3.4 seconds remaining. Coach Rekoske called a timeout and set his team up. They came down the floor and got off a three-point attempt but it was just off the mark, bringing Bryan's season to a close.

The Lions hosted the Bulldogs of Union College on Saturday. Bryan entered the game tied for fourth in the conference. They needed to get a win, along with a Montreat loss, in order to go into the tournament as the #4 seed and to host their quarterfinal game on Tuesday. The Lions did their part as they defeated the Bulldogs by a final score of 65-57 and received the help needed in order to land the #4 seed.

The Lions traveled down to Reinhardt University to compete against the Eagles in a conference game on Wednesday night. The Eagles are currently receiving votes to be ranked in the top 25 in the nation. The two teams swapped the lead back and forth for the entire first half, and they went into the locker room at the break with the score 28-26 in favor of Reinhardt. In the second half, the Lions were leading 32-31 before the Eagles went on a 15-2 run to open up their lead. They led by as many as 13 points before Bryan cut the lead down to the final seven points, 62-55.

The Lions did not appear ready to play at the start of their game on Saturday against Bluefield College as they found themselves down 12-0 before scoring their first basket. Bryan cut it down to five points, 15-10, but then the Rams went on a 22-7 run to build their largest lead of the first half. The two teams went into halftime with the score 40-22. In the second half, the Lions cut the lead down to ten points on several occasions but were unable to get it into single digits. The Rams closed the game on a 12-2 run to get the final spread to 24, 80-56.
