Coach Johnson
Mr. Joey Johnson returns to Bryan College to take over as the new men's soccer head coach. Coach Johnson began his collegiate coaching experience as an assistant at Bryan in 1996. In 2006, Coach Johnson returned to Bryan as the Associate Head Coach to the men's soccer program through the 2009 season. During that four-year stint, the Lions compiled 47 wins as he helped lead them to an AAC Regular Season Conference Championship in 2008 and an AAC Tournament Championship and NAIA National Tournament bid in 2009.

The NAIA just released the list of student-athletes who were named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes. Seniors Sebastian Fischer and Lee Rickman along with junior Tom Hemmings received the honor.

Lee Rickman
The 2011 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Men's Soccer Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), was announced late Monday afternoon. Bryan College's Tom Hemmings and Lee Rickman were voted onto the Academic All-America Third Team. Hemmings is a junior and currently has a 3.61 gpa as an Exercise and Health Science major. At the time of the nomination, he had played and started in all 14 of the Lions' games. Rickman is a senior and currently has a 3.83 gpa as a History (Secondary Education) major. At the time of the nomination, he had played in 9 of 14 games for the Lions and started in 3 of them.

Dr. Sandy Zensen
After twenty-two years as Bryan's head coach for men's soccer, Dr. Sandy Zensen has now stepped down from that position. He had dedicated countless hours to not only making his athletes better soccer players and better students, but more importantly, he encouraged them to become better men. He has been admired by hundreds of players, fellow coaches, and those who work with him daily. Zensen's humor, love of life, and giant heart will be greatly missed in the world of soccer.
