The Bryan College men's basketball team traveled to Waleska, Ga., to take on the Eagles in a conference game. The two teams swapped the lead five times in the first half. The Lions went into the break trailing 43-39. Once again, the teams traded the lead five times in the second half. The Lions hit two free throws with 2:18 remaining to tie the game at 81, where it would remain until the final second. The Bryan defense stole the ball with 35 seconds remaining. They held the ball until the final second and then took a shot. The shot was off target, and the Lions were called for a foul on the rebound with one second remaining on the clock. The Eagles hit their first free throw, missed the second, and grabbed the rebound to win the game 82-81. The Bryan men are now 3-7 overall and 2-2 in the AAC.
The Bryan College men's basketball team is proud to announce Isaiah Campbell as their 1st signing for the 2014-2015 freshman class. He is a 5'10" point guard. Campbell has started the past two years at Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tenn.
Bryan head coach Don Rekoske stated, "We are excited about Isaiah coming to Bryan. It will help him coming out of a program like Bearden. He brings a point guard mentality to his team and has great leadership qualities."
The Bryan College men's basketball team hosted the Skyhawks of Point University tonight. The Lions scored the first seven points of the game. However, the Skyhawks went on a 31-11 run to take their largest lead of the game. Bryan trailed 40-30 at the break. With just under four minutes remaining in the game, the Lions went on a 7-0 run to cut the lead down to one point, 63-62, with 34 seconds left in the game. However, Point hit seven of eight free throws down the stretch to win 70-65. The Bryan men are now 3-6 overall and 2-1 in the AAC.
Bryan College men's basketball player Brandon Cole was named the AAC's Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The 6'2 sophomore from Crossville, Tenn., received this honor for his performance on the court November 18-24. Cole had a stellar week for the Lions as he had a double-double in all three games the Lions played on the week. In the Lions win, he finished the game with 34 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists.
