Bryan College is pleased to announce the signing of Katelyn Davenport to be joining the Lady Lions golf team for the fall of 2013. She was a four year starter for the Warren County High School Lady Pioneers as well as an active participant of the TGA, USJGT and AJGA junior tours with several top five finishes over the past two years. Last summer, Davenport not only qualified for the TGA Masters series but won the TGA Masters event at Riverwatch GC in July.
The Bryan College Lady Lions Golf Team presented a check for $1,000 to the Women's Care Center of Dayton, Tenn. The money was raised by both the men's and women's golf teams during a Golf Marathon held this March at Fall Creek Falls to help the Women's Care Center as well as help raise money for the program. The Bryan golf program raised the money to help assist the Edge Program, which teaches abstinence to adolescents in the local community.
The women's golf team competed in the final day of the AAC Championship/NAIA National Qualifier on Tuesday. The tournament was held at Link Hills in Greenville, Tenn. The Lady Lions shot a 334 in round two, knocking 11 strokes off of their round one score and setting a new team record for a round. Their overall score of 679 for the tournament landed them in 3rd place. For the second time ever, two Lady Lions finished in the top 5, placing them on the All-Tournament Team.
