The NAIA recently announced student-athletes who were named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athletes. Junior Liz Olsen and senior Ericka Simpson were honored from the women's team, while senior Bryson Harper, junior Jason McLeod, junior Alex Stephens, and senior Drew Thompson received the honor for the men's team.

Vancouver, Wash. - The 17th-ranked Bryan College Cross Country team traveled west to compete in the NAIA Cross Country Championship on Saturday. The Lions came away with a near top-ten finish as they closed out the fall season with an 11th-place effort. The AAC Champions were led by the lone senior Bryson Harper (Sequatchie County HS, Tenn.) who claimed his third All-American award by crossing the line in 10th place with a time of 24:19 over the eight kilometer layout. Harper was 27th a year ago.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2011 AAC Cross Country Academic All-Conference Teams today. The Bryan College women's team had two student-athletes make the team. The men's team had five members named to the team which was more than any other men's team in the conference.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recently released the final edition of the 2011 NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Lions, who were ranked 12th in the last edition of the poll, dropped 5 spots in this week's ranking and are now ranked #17. This comes despite the fact that the Lions won their conference meet on Saturday morning.
