Bryan College's Jason McLeod ran in the Secret City Half Marathon this past Sunday. The race is held in Oak Ridge, Tenn. He ran the 13.1 miles in 1:11:53.92, a pace of 5:29 per mile, to come in first place out of the 538 runners that participated. McLeod's time set a new state record for his age.
The 2013 NAIA Cross Country Championship was held on a brisk morning on the historic Rim Rock Farm course in Lawrence, Kan. The Bryan Lions fought over the tough course that featured rolling and steep hills, covered bridges, and a frozen course. Three Lions were racing for the last time on a cross country course and helped the team to a 10th place finish, tying the school's 2nd best finish in history.
The 58th edition of the Men's Cross Country National Championship will take place tomorrow morning on the historic Rim Rock Farms in Lawrence, Kan. It has played host to multiple State meets, as well as Big 8, Big 12, and NCAA Championships. Ninety-six teams are represented in the 321 athlete field racing for individual and team championship titles.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the men's cross country student-athletes that have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Jason McLeod and Alex Stephens received the honor.
