
Friday night, the newly renovated Rhea County High School track played host to the first annual Bryan College/Swiftwick Classic. The near perfect conditions helped athletes post 3 NAIA national qualifying marks. Four Bryan Lions posted personal bests under the lights.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the Track and Field Championship Awards. Bryan had five men and three women receive All-Conference honors. Also, seven Lions and two Lady Lions made the All-Academic Team.

Bryan College's Jessica Stockton was named the AAC's Women's Track Athlete of the Week. The sophomore from Front Royal, Va., received this honor for her performances on the track April 15-21. Stockton ran two personal bests on the week which resulted in two wins. The first win was in the 5k at the AAC Championships on Thursday. She followed that with a win in the 1500 meter race at the Sewanee Mountain Laurel Invitation on Saturday.

The Bryan College Lions and Lady Lions made the short trip to the historic campus of the University of the South to compete at the Mountain Laurel Invitational. They had seven finishes in the top 3, with 4 wins combined.
