The 2011 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Women's Soccer Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), was announced late Monday afternoon. Bryan College senior Shannon McGowan was voted onto the Academic All-America Second Team. McGowan currently has a 4.0 gpa as a History (Political Science) major. At the time of the nomination, she had played in 15 games for the Lady Lions and started in 14 of them.

The 2011 Capital One Academic All-District ® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, were recently announced and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Bryan College's Shannon McGowan and Liz Ponto were selected to the District 4 College Division's First Team.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference has announced their 2011 award winners. The Lady Lions brought home 16 individual awards. As a team, the Lady Lions were named the Champions of Character for the fourth year in a row.
