Kingsport, Tenn. - For the second time in the AAC Tournament, the #2 ranked Bryan College baseball team competed against #3 Union College on Thursday evening. The Lions scored one run in the first inning and one in the second to get on the scoreboard first. The Bulldogs took one run back in the third. Bryan scored their final run in the fourth inning. Union scored a run in the fifth, tied the game with a run in the sixth inning, and scored a run in the eighth to take the lead. The Lions were unable to score a run in the eighth or ninth inning to extend the game, losing by a final score of 4-3.

The Lions jumped out to a good start by scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Bryan added one run in the third inning and another in the fourth. Tyler Latham hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to add to the lead. The Lions added one more in the sixth inning to go ahead 6-0 before giving up two runs in the bottom of the inning. Bryan scored their final run in the eighth inning. Montreat scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the Lions were able to hold them off to win by a final score of 7-4.

Kingsport, Tenn. - The #2 Bryan College baseball team competed against #3 Union College on Wednesday in the AAC Tournament. The Lions gave up three runs in the third and eight runs in the fifth inning to fall behind 11-0. The Bryan offense got on the board in the ninth as they scored three runs, including a two-run home run by Kevin Layne, but it was too little too late.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the baseball regular season awards. Bryan Head Coach Taylor Hasty was named the AAC Coach of the Year. Kenny Knudsen was voted the Freshman of the Year. DeWayne Boyd, Tanner Brown, Shane Clawson, and Tyler Latham were all selected to the All-Conference 1st Team. Boyd and Clawson were also named to the Gold Glove Team. Kevin Layne and Adam Sanders were selected to the All-Conference Second Team. Steven Brown, Jordan Day, Josh Harris, Kemonte Keesee, and Andrew Smith made the All-Academic Team.
